He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the Orthopaedic Research Society, the Hip Society, the Knee Society, Academic Orthopedic Society, Western Orthopaedic Association, and the American Orthopaedic Association. He is a member of the International Society for Technology in Arthroplasty and the International Society for the Study of Custom-Made Prostheses. Bargar is the recipient or co-recipient of multiple honors, including the Computerworld Smithsonian Award for Information Technology in Medicine and the prestigious Joseph F. He is a clinical professor at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine in the Department of Orthopedics. As a board-certified surgeon, he practiced in the Sacramento area for many years, including with Sutter Community Hospitals. He is the co-inventor of the Robodoc joint replacement system, a medical development so important that the prototype now resides in the Smithsonian Museum of American History. Bargar is an award-winning orthopedic surgeon and robotics pioneer. Klein received his master of science in anatomy from Drexel University and his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. His most favorite activity is spending time with his four grandchildren. He is a private pilot and enjoys international travel. Klein retired from the USAF Medical Corps in 1998 after being on active duty during the Vietnam War, and he was activated for Operation Desert Storm in 1991. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a clinical professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, where he has volunteered for the past thirty years. He was involved with the development of the orthopedic section of the Level II Trauma Center at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, California. He was the first medical director of Northern California Orthopedic Centers, now called Summit Orthopedics. Klein is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and the founder of MRK Medical Consultants.
